CTO/Tech Advisor

GUIDE is seeking a CTO/Tech Advisor to be part of our team (5-10 hours per week). We are seeking a visionary tech leader who can help us impact the world by bringing personal transformation to millions of people; eliminating suffering by providing the infrastructure to build a personalized, daily personal development practice and individualized spiritual community.

What is Guide?

GUIDE plans to change the world by making personal transformation available to everyone. We will offer a pathway toward self-actualization for people seeking to become the best version of themselves and build lives that they love by eliminating barriers such as cost, time and social acceptance. We will enable personal transformation in a supportive, accepting community of guides and peers for less than $0.25 and 15 minutes a day. Through transformative learning principles, innovative app technology and relevant expert resources, GUIDE encourages sharing a daily practice in a supportive, authentic community that empowers people to live lives they love.

Our vision is to become a leading technology platform that encourages each individual to develop their own personal development practice and individualized community for support, guidance, growth and healing.

Why does it matter?

People are suffering - anxiety, depression and loneliness are at all time highs - many people are not living lives that they love (and Covid is making things worse). We believe people can learn the tools and live better lives. We want to be a leader teaching people these tools.

What is the opportunity?

Apps in this space are expected to grow to $350 Billion by 2026.

How do we build the brand?

GUIDE will make money in 3 ways: subscriptions, in-app advertising, and commissions for coaches, wellness practitioners, and in-app content and courses.

What is our status?

We are an early stage venture with a team of committed managers and advisors with a range of experiences in personal development and business. The current leadership is Patrick Sandone (Founder/CEO), Tracy Morgan (COO), and Cecelia Meredith (Business Manager). We have an Alpha 2.0 version of the app that is available in the Apple and Google Play stores. Our community has a modest, but growing number of members, and we have demonstrated both tenaciousness and positive outcomes.

CTO/Tech Advisor

We’re looking for someone with meaningful experience around bringing a tech platform/app to life—design, architecture, build, deployment, scale, etc. ideally this person will join Guide’s Advisory Board and participate in an equity program and potentially become a paid member of the team.

Personal development experience and value for the mission

Willingness to be a user of the app

Meaningful experience in app design and development (7+ years)

Back-end and front-end experience (prefer strong back-end)
Person with architectural view of technology who can advise on/design app architecture (3+ years)
Experience managing other developers (5+ years)
Knowledge of common languages used in app development - we are currently using the following languages - Go for backend, Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android

Initially, contribute 5 to 10 hours per week
